Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of QuizMed. By creating an account, using the demo or making a purchase you agree to them.

QuizMed (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an online study platform for medical students, with flashcards, exam-style questions, OSCE stations, spaced repetition and exam study plans. It is built and run by a small founding team based in Sri Lanka. QuizMed is not currently an incorporated company; references to “the company” mean the founding team collectively.

QuizMed is open to medical students and graduates in any country. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for any activity under your account.

One person, one account. Sharing a login or giving other people access to your account breaches these terms and is grounds for suspension without a refund.

3. Content

All flashcards, questions, OSCE stations, images, explanations and other study content on QuizMed are owned by QuizMed or licensed to us. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the content for your own study, on the plan you hold.

You may not:

  • copy, screenshot, screen-record, scrape or otherwise reproduce the content;
  • redistribute, resell or share the content with anyone outside your own account;
  • use the content to train any machine-learning or AI model;
  • use the service in a way that interferes with other users or our infrastructure.

The content is for study and revision only. It is not medical advice, and clinical decisions must be based on a qualified clinician’s assessment of the individual patient and your local guidelines. We make no guarantee that the content is complete or error-free.

Icons in the app are by Icons8 and are used under their licence.

QuizMed has three plans:

  • Free: no charge. 20 stars a day, ads between items, and your card ratings are saved. It does not include the review schedule or the exam study plan.
  • Plus: US$3 a month or US$27 a year. 50 stars a day, fewer ads, and spaced repetition.
  • Pro: US$5 a month or US$45 a year. No star limit, no ads, spaced repetition and the exam study plan.

Stars are a daily allowance, not a currency. Opening a flashcard, a question or an OSCE station you have not opened that day uses one star; reopening it the same day is free. Stars reset every day, cannot be carried over, bought separately, transferred or exchanged for money, and have no cash value. On Free and Plus you can earn up to 20 extra stars a day by watching short videos, where that option is available.

We may change what each plan includes, the number of stars or the prices. A price change never affects a term you have already paid for.

The demo shows the full app with a sample of each subject and sample progress. Nothing you do in the demo is saved. To open the demo we ask for your name, email, graduating year and optionally your country, as described in our Privacy Policy. The demo may change or be withdrawn at any time.

Prices are in US dollars. Your bank or card provider may convert the charge to your own currency and add its own fees; those are between you and them.

Payments are processed by PayHere, our payment provider, under their own terms and security practices. Card numbers and other sensitive payment details go directly from your browser to PayHere; we never see or store them. PayHere sends us only the payment status and a reference so we can activate your plan.

A plan is bought for one month or one year, paid in advance, as a single payment. It does not renew by itself: when the term ends your account moves to Free, and you can buy another term at any time.

We may refuse or cancel an order, for example for suspected fraud, a breach of these terms or a clear pricing error. If we cancel after payment we refund the full amount. Refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

The Free and Plus plans show ads, served by Google. Ads appear in study breaks between items, never in the middle of a flashcard, question or station. Pro has no ads. How advertising uses cookies is explained in our Privacy Policy. Blocking or tampering with ads, stars or plan limits is a breach of these terms.

We aim to keep QuizMed available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Maintenance, outages at our providers (such as Supabase, Vercel, PayHere and Google) and events outside our control may cause downtime. We are not liable for losses arising from temporary unavailability.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, share or copy our content, try to get around plan limits or harm other users. Where a breach is confirmed, no refund is owed for the rest of a paid term.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability arising from your use of QuizMed is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost study time or exam results. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law where you live that cannot be limited.

We may update these terms from time to time. We will tell you about material changes by email or in the app. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
